Gon Pak Stream, also known as Gan Bei/Bai,is an infrequently  visited stream due to its remote location in the far western side of the  New  Territories.

It lies in the valley between  Lau Fau Shan, Yuen Tau Shan and Por Lo Shan.

The trek starts  at a place called  Pak Nai at Nim Wan Road. You can enjoy your time here without worrying  about bumping into a big  crowd of noisy people.

It’s  calm and quiet and most of all, you’ll  never find any rubbish here that I honestly hope you will feel guilty to leave  even your apple peel and egg shells.

To get there:

*Find your way to Yuen Long West *Look for Tai Fung Street

From McDonald’s to Tai Fung St via Castle Peak Road (Yuen Long).

Inform  the driver that you will get off at AP TSAI HANG.

This is a long ride and it will cost you HK$11.90.

If you live in Tin Shui Wai or Lau Fau Shan, look for it’s  stop there.

Once you get to Nim Wan Road, politely  remind the driver again to drop you off at Ap Tsai Hang. This  is where you should stop! The entrance is just a few meters away from the toilet.

At Ap Tsai Hang, you will expect to see a seafood haven.Explore and you will see what looks like a sandy canal, (right beside the toilet) that’s  where you start, or you can go further on the road to enter the stream on your left side. Watch  my video for the rest of the trek..

When you arrive at the stage where the stream splits in 2 directions, you must follow the right turn.

The water flows  more abundantly  than the left one.

For easier  exit turn left when you see this tree..Then head slowly to the right, finding your best way to avoid the grown bushesAt the very top, you can have a glimpse of the Por Lo Shan(the mini Grand Canyon of HK) and Castle  Peak  too from afar. Look down to the town  where you will be going to and you will see the path on your  right. There is a big stone there that will serve as your landmark.

If you found the right way, you will soon be at Hong Po road and Siu Hong MTR station is  just close by.
